(Kent, United Kingdom / Istanbul, Turkey) Elvis & Kresse was founded in 2005 to rescue London’s decommissioned firehoses—sturdy, battle-tested materials that were otherwise destined for a landfill. Their highly skilled craftspeople now transform these firehoses, along with fifteen other reclaimed materials such as parachute silk and coffee sacks, into beautifully designed bags and homewares.
Fifty percent of the profits from the Firehose Collection are donated to The Fire Fighters Charity, while fifty percent of the profits from the Fire & Hide Collection support Barefoot College International.
To date, Elvis & Kresse has reclaimed and transformed over 300 tons of material. In 2017, the Burberry Foundation partnered with Elvis & Kresse to tackle the growing global problem of leather waste, with a five-year collaboration aiming to repurpose at least 120 tons of leather offcuts into new luxury goods. Elvis & Kresse is also proud to be a Certified B Corporation, reflecting their ongoing commitment to sustainability and social impact.
