Icebug Swedish Traction Footwear

(Jonsered, Sweden) Icebug was founded in 2001 by a mother-and-son team and remains an independent, privately owned company in a niche market. This small business had the innovative idea to sell shoes equipped with dynamic steel studs, designed to provide superior traction in cold, icy climates where freezing weather (at or below 0°C or 32°F) lasts approximately 60 to 100 days per year. The goal was simple but powerful: to keep feet warm, dry, and, most importantly, upright during treacherous winter months. It turns out, it was a very good idea.

Icebug demonstrates stewardship to the environment by focusing on durable products, using recycled and bio-based materials where possible, and working continuously to reduce their carbon footprint. They also prioritize the safety and satisfaction of their customers. At their headquarters in Jonsered, Sweden, if someone in customer service has a technical question about a shoe model, they can simply walk a few meters to the person who designed it.

Within their team, Icebug promotes a strong work-life balance and a commitment to outdoor and environmental values. For example, employees regularly join open lunch runs through the forest right outside the office. Icebug also sponsors The Frozen Lake Marathon, one of the coolest winter running experiences anywhere on Earth!
