Too Good To Go

(Copenhagen, Denmark) Too Good To Go was founded in 2015 in Copenhagen by a group of young entrepreneurs who shared a dream: to tackle the massive amounts of food wasted by buffet restaurants in Denmark. Driven by passion and urgency, they set out to create a simple but powerful tool — an app that would connect food businesses with individuals who wanted to rescue good food, help combat climate change, and save money at the same time.

The central purpose of the Too Good To Go app is to prevent edible surplus food from being discarded. Food waste is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, as decomposing food releases methane, one of the most potent greenhouse gases. By rescuing food that would otherwise be wasted, Too Good To Go directly helps reduce these emissions — while creating a win-win scenario for businesses and consumers alike.

Today, Too Good To Go operates in 19 countries across Europe and North America, with a thriving community of 100 million registered users and 175,000 active partner businesses. Yet the movement remains rooted in the original vision: that a small group of committed individuals can indeed make a real difference in the world through technology and collective action.
